Contemporary abstract landscape painter.

My aim is to try and capture the feeling of a place, following intuition to discover paintings in this way

Based in Northern Ireland I take inspiration from the varied natural landscapes which surround me. I base much of my work on the Mourne Mountains and Carlingford Lough, sometimes specific places or more often memories of them.
My paintings are intended to be about tone and texture rather than necessarily a resemblance of place. The process of making them is enjoyable, where I will often finding the final painting through the push and pull of applying paint, and taking some off again, building up layers in that way.
I am represented by Canvas Galleries in Belfast, who hold a series of my paintings, links to these are found in the available originals section below.
