Who I am

Having grown up in the Mourne Mountains of Northern Ireland, art has always been part of my life, professionally I took a slightly different turn into architecture where I have worked for several years now. I am a husband and father of two young children which keeps me on my toes.

In terms of my route into painting, I have tried out different styles and subject matter in the past ranging from portraiture to very representational landscapes. More often working in acrylics, I also paint in oils and watercolours, and dabble every so often with charcoal and print making.

In more recent years the pandemic caused a shift in my working, into more abstract landscape work, with an attempt to use memory and intuition more than following exact views.
